Nobel Peace Prize reduced to booby prize for junk science

October 17, 2007

I wasn’t going to comment on this. I intended to just grit my teeth and mumble under my breath. But I simply can’t let it go without saying something.

Last week Al Gore was awarded one half of the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts at indoctrinating the public on the dangers of alleged man-made global warming. The other half of the award went to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

They might as well have given Jack Kevorkian a humanitarian award for population control.

If I’m stepping on someone’s “personal jesus” here, I must tell you now that no matter what you say, I’m not going to change my opinion about this.

I’ve already posted several missives on the topic of climate change. They are available here in the archives. I’m not going to re-hash that material now.

The real pity of the Nobel committee’s decision is that this once prestigious award for contributions to world peace has been diminished to the stature of a booby prize for junk science. How can the Nobel Peace Prize ever be taken seriously again?

For exceptional decision-making accomplishments, the members of the Nobel committee are hereby presented this award…

Until next time,
